Anna & Richard’s Epic Glencoe Couples Photoshoot
“Oh my god these are absolutely stunning!!!! You are so talented!! You managed to make me look good so that makes you a magician in my eyes. We had so much fun and felt so comfortable. Our parents are totally in love with the photos as well and it’s been so wonderful sharing the beautiful photos with our loved ones”
– Anna & Richard
I’m going to let you into a little secret…Anna has super duper psychic powers. Back in October when she got in touch to book an engagement shoot for her and Richard they weren’t actually engaged! I know! Anna must have known something was about to happen though as just a month later, and a matter of days before said shoot was due to take place, Richard popped the question, Anna said yes (of course!) and then I rocked up to do their engagement shoot. Perfect timing!
Engagement Photo Shoot in Glencoe
Anna is American and is (newly) engaged to Glaswegian Richard. They were on holiday, exploring Scotland together and Anna quite rightly realised that Glencoe would be the perfect spot for a photoshoot. I mean, I can’t argue with that. Glencoe is quintessential Scotland.
As it was November, we were all expecting crazy weather. None of us expected to experience all four seasons in one day though, madness! But that’s how Scotland rolls!
We got to see so much of Glencoe that afternoon. I met up with Anna and Richard at the Kingshouse Hotel and we headed straight to thee Glencoe spot. You know the one, the little white house, the River Coupall, and, of course, Buachaille Etive Mor. The triangular shaped mountain that is the backdrop to every single Glencoe photo. It’s so distinctive looking, imagine a child has drawn a picture of a mountain and you’re pretty much picturing Etive Mor!
Sunset Glencoe Couples Photoshoot
The weather was a bit grey and drizzly for a wee while but it didn’t deter us. We clambered up rocks, over bridges, and plonked ourselves down next to a river for a snuggle. Well, Anna and Richard snuggled. I love a hug but I also know when to back off and leave a couple to be all cute and romantic together! Then, to our delight, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds just in time for an epic golden hour shoot.
If you’ve not heard me bang on about golden hour before then you’re in for a treat. It’s the hour before sunset and is the most perfect time for photographs. The natural light is stunning. Soft and, well, golden. Everyone looks amazing and I do a happy dance after every click of the shutter!
Right before the sun fully set and we lost the light there was time to take a quick trip out to the Glen Etive Road. Otherwise known as Skyfall Road because, well, it was in Skyfall. If you’re a film fan then Loch Etive, which Glen Etive Road overlooks, has been in a couple of Harry Potter movies. Who needs film stars though when you’ve got Anna and Richard giggling and twirling in front of your camera! I loved every minute of our shoot, they are fab and I was over the moon when they asked me to photograph their wedding this summer. I’m super excited for that!
