Could we LOVE this Awesome Scottish Castle Venue any MORE?
Since the first time I laid eyes on the gorgeous Camellia House, a Victorian orangery glasshouse, at Culzean Castle I just KNEW I had to do a shoot there. I mean, look at it *heart eyes everywhere*. I had only seen it in images before visiting and when I got there I was blown away at the versatility of it and the whole of Culzean Castle with its lush grounds and lovely outbuildings. A Culzean Castle wedding would just be perfection. And I can’t wait to shoot one there in 2021!
↓ We were all buzzing to have this shoot featured in The Scottish Wedding Directory too! ↓
“How beautiful is this springtime styled wedding shoot at a gorgeous Victorian Greenhouse in the grounds of Culzean Castle in Maybole?”
The Idea
The shoot was an amalgamation of ideas between myself and the amazing Mel at Briar Rose Design. Mel yelled, “yellow!” and I said, “heck yeah!” so we incorporated lots of lovely yellow accents, like yellow shoes yay, and went for springtime vibes, colourful and fun – all of my faves!
The Location
Where do I even start, it’s got it ALL darling! This has to be my favourite Ayrshire Wedding Venue. I loved shooting here so much that I went back the next weekend just to nosey around again. There are SO many epic locations for wedding portraits. And word on the street is that they’ll give you a golf cart to zoom about to them in – yasss. We did most of our shooting at the Camellia House but there’s also a gorgeous Orangery, a walled garden with beautiful glasshouses and greenhouses, the castle itself and you’ve got the beach and coastline too. I could go on but I’ll let the images do the talking! OMG I almost forgot – it also has DEER and LLAMAS! (see below!)
The Dream Team
To be honest, it’s not hard to get beautiful images when you are working with the best in the biz and at a location like this! All the hard work credit goes to… Mel at Briar Rose Design for her STUNNING floral installation and bouquet. Eden Campbell our AMAZING model was an absolute dream to work with and genuinely so lovely to boot – I was in heaven. Jenna Clayton MUA for her tireless WIZARDRY with hair and makeup and staying ‘on set’ all day to try out different looks. Jenni from Two Tabbies stationery for her COLOURFUL and beautiful invite sets and also being ‘on set’ all day to lend a helping hand with everything. Wendy from Flossy & Dossy for lending us these GORGEOUS dresses to play about in, oh my god I love them all! Susan Dick Jewellery for bedazzling our lovely Eden in SPARKLY amazingness. And, perhaps most importantly, the lovely Helen at Culzean Castle for allowing us use of the Camellia House and a space to set up to prep and letting us play all day in this bone fide photographers WONDERLAND!
Enjoy the images, I hope they inspire you to incorporate more yellow in your wedding day!

Behind The Scenes
We all had such a fun day together hanging out and making images. Highlights included being in the POSHEST prep room ever in Culzean Castle – like an actual stately room – check us out. And us all sitting on the steps on the Camellia House after a hard days work munching sandwiches that we got from the lovely NTS cafe. A huge thank you to the whole team for being utter STARS. Please check out the links to their work, you’d be lucky to have any of them on your wedding team ♥
