Laury-Anne & Andrew's Farm Wedding Scotland
“The photos are AMAZING!!!!! Thank you so so much for all of them, it means so much to us! “
– Laury-Ann & Andrew
Have you ever seen goats at a wedding? Me neither, well not until Laury Anne and Andrew’s farm wedding Scotland last summer. They are the proud owners of Annfield Mohair and raise their Angora goats on Andrew’s Dad’s farm, where they also held their wedding. Now, the goats weren’t heavily involved in the wedding… for obvious reasons. I mean goats plus lovely clothes plus drunk wedding guests probably isn’t the greatest combo, but if you scroll to the end of this blog post then I’ve included some bonus goat pictures for you. They are super cute! You’ll also get to see me, hoisted high up in the sky in a tractor. Terrifying I tell you!
But I digress. The lovely Laury-Anne and Andrew met at agricultural college. Andrew is Scottish and grew up on Annfield Farm. Laury-Anne is Belgian so their wedding was a real international affair. Full of Laury-Anne’s Belgian family as well as guests from all over the world.
That morning Andrew got ready at home and Laury-Anne was just down the road in a hotel. A lot of her family don’t speak much English so Cat, who was on makeup duties, and Gillian from Pinup Hair and I learnt a lot of French as they all got ready! So many of my friends were working on Laury-Anne and Andrew’s wedding, it was great. As well as Cat and Gillian, the lovely Mel from Briar Rose Design was on flowers. She filled the barn with lots of bright, colourful flowers. It looked incredible.

I love the real mix of cultures at the wedding. Laury-Anne’s Dad is a famous sommelier (Eric Boschman, look him up, he knows his stuff when it comes to wine) so he’d brought over a load of alcohol and cheese with him. A crazy amount of booze! Of course the wedding itself was super Scottish – on a farm, with a ceilidh. Laury-Anne and Andrew both play in pipe bands. Music is a huge part of their life so there were lots of pipers and dancing at the wedding. The ceilidh was carnage. Utter carnage! Big, burly Scottish farmers were throwing bemused Belgians around the dancefloor. They were so confused by the ceilidh at first – isn’t everyone?! – but loved it.
Quirky, Rustic Wedding
Their ceremony was super sweet. It took place in the barn and was just so lovely and so them. When it came to their vows Laury-Anne whipped out a copy of “Your Personal Penguin” and read that to Andrew. Hilarious! Her Dad was almost crying with laughter. It’s a great book, if you haven’t read it go and hunt down a copy.
They finished the ceremony with a handfasting, using a bit of tartan from Andrew’s kilt and material from Laury-Anne’s wedding dress. I thought that was a fab touch.
The day was really, really sunny and warm. The Belgians could not believe the weather, neither could the Scots to be honest. I ended up having to do the family photos inside as it was just so bright. That never happens in Scotland!
They had planned for an epic party. To make sure everyone was well fed they served afternoon tea at around 4pm. Then at 9.30pm the main meal was served. There was loads of food. Pasta, seafood, piles of cheese. Everyone was building up their stamina for the dancefloor as the party was due to go until 5am! Wowzers!
I do not have the energy to party until the wee hours of the morning so I slunk off to my bed after I’d captured some hilarious ceilidh photos, oh and of course some rather epic sunset portraits. Enjoy – and don’t forget to keep scrolling til you get to the goats!
