Madi & Hishan's Loch Lomond Photoshoot Glasgow
“Thank you so much for the photos! They are absolutely lovely! We love them! It was great having you to take photos of us! ”
– Madi & Hishan
Ahh Madi and Hishan, these two are just fab. We had the best day hanging out at Loch Lomond and shooting some fun portraits with the most dramatic, “could it be any more Scottish” backdrop! So, Madi and Hishan live in England and, last May, came up to Scotland for a wee holiday. They got married last December back in Sri Lanka, where they’re from. Now it’s safe to say that their wedding photos didn’t really reflect them and their relationship. They didn’t have the best experience and Madi described the final pictures as a ‘bit cringe’. They wanted some more upbeat and fun photos that really showed their personalities. And that’s where I came in! I feel like this is my super power, take two nervous people, point my camera at them, unleash some banter and voila! A relaxed portrait shoot and a gallery full of fun, natural photos. Luckily, Madi and Hishan agreed and even said at the end they’d both been pretty nervous and slightly dreading the shoot but it was actually fun and they’d enjoyed it. We met up at Rest and Be Thankful. This is an infamous Scottish beauty spot, the highest point of the less romantically named A83 which runs for almost 100 scenic miles from Loch Lomond to the foot of the Kintyre peninsula. Rest and Be Thankful is inscribed on a stone at the top of the pass, placed there by soldiers who worked on the old military road in 1753. Travellers are encouraged to rest after the steep climb up and be thankful that they made it! It’s the perfect spot for some portraits. Right next to the road but has the most dramatic mountain backdrop without having to climb a big hill. Always a win! After a few pictures we drove down to Loch Lomond, with a quick stop off on the way at Loch Long. Here’s a tip for you, if you ever drive over to Loch Long and park up – buy a parking ticket! We parked for 12 minutes and ended up with a fine as we didn’t realise we had to pay. Dammit! The final photos were worth it though.Couples Photoshoot, Loch Lomond
Finally we made it to Firkin Point, a popular spot at Loch Lomond. It’s incredibly beautiful and you can get right down to the stony shore of the Loch. We spent a lot of time here, just chatting away and taking photos as Madi and Hishan chilled out on the rocks. I’m going to leave you with a link to Hishan’s Instagram. He’s a mega cool and talented street photographer, go check him out! Luckily he didn’t tell me this until after the shoot, he’s SO GOOD and the pressure would have been on, haha! If you’ve got married and fancy a post wedding shoot with some dramatic Scottish scenery then gimme a call. We’ll go on an adventure!Sarah x
