Home Comforts & a Visit to the Botanic Garden Edinburgh – Couples Shoot

The weather on the day of Annie and Catherine’s engagement shoot did not start off well. It was pouring down rain even though it was the middle of August, so we started off the session at their charming home in Edinburgh. Sarah and I basically wanted to steal everything that they owned from their fairy lights to their book selection to the owl print on the mantelpiece. They showed us all the meaningful items in their home including a photo of where they got engaged. So romantic! There was a real natural and creative vibe to their home which made it so inviting for us that we didn’t mind the rain.

Luckily the Scottish sun did put its hat on and come out in the afternoon and we were so lucky to be shown around Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh by these gorgeous ladies. The colours were fabulous, and I got slightly obsessed with the giant sunflowers! Have you seen them? They are enormous!

We enjoyed the gardens almost as much as we enjoyed getting to know Annie and Catherine. What was obvious from minute one was that Annie and Catherine were such a loving couple – with each other, with us and also to everyone around them. There was also a love for nature that was clear which made the Botanic Gardens Edinburgh the perfect location for their engagement session.

Annie and Catherine were so laid back and relaxed during our time together and we think it shows in the photos. They made each other (and us) laugh and we cannot wait to capture the story of their wedding day at Three Sister Bake in Killearn Village Hall this Summer. Our only complaint is that we have to wait for it to happen!
