Meet Dan and Giulia. These two lovebirds booked me for their wedding photography. Yay! When you book a Full Day Joy Story wedding package you get an engagement shoot thrown in too. Yep, a wee ‘practice’ session to show you how ace you look in front of the camera and calm those nerves before the big day. Dan and Giulia wanted to go one further though so they upgraded to an adventure shoot slightly further afield. They wanted mountains, they wanted epic, they wanted pure Scotland. There was only one place for it, Glencoe.

Of course, I jumped at the chance. Any excuse to head over there and take in the scenery. I met up with them and we set off for the little white house. A classic Glencoe shot and the perfect starting point for our adventure. Buachaille Etive Mor was in the background (that distinctive triangle shaped mountain that basically is Glencoe) the clouds were creeping in. Everything looked misty and moody. It was brilliant!

So, we started there. Iconic. Our next stop was Ralston Cairn. Just a wee climb up from the road but it feels like you’ve hiked up a mountain and you’re on top of the world. By this point, we were all pretty warm so Dan and Guilia ditched their jackets and began jumping around. They are so loved up and joyful, it’s a beautiful thing to see and photograph.

Epic Glencoe Photoshoot

After some jumping, cuddling, general larking about, and admiring the snow-capped peaks we headed back down to Kingshouse Hotel to finish. I love the Kingshouse. It looks brilliant (like a super cool log cabin) and there are often deer in the car park. We saw one that day but I don’t like to hang around too close and annoy them, those antlers are pretty big! So we took a few pictures then I left Dan and Giulia to enjoy a single malt, a roaring fire, and those incredible views over Glencoe, at least, I hope that’s what they did 😉
