Hayley & Nick's Big Day at The Byre at Inchyra Wedding Barn in Perthshire
“Oh my gosh Sarah these are amazing. Wow wow wow! I have no words… There are so many good photos, I don’t know where to start in choosing the best ones to print. Thank you so much for capturing our day so perfectly and being so great on the day. “

The Byre at Inchyra Wedding – Hayley and Nick
Here goes, my last wedding of 2022! Phew!
Hayley and Nick were meant to get married back in 2020, but we all know what happened then. So two years later it was time for them to travel over from the Netherlands and finally have their big old Scottish wedding.
Hayley is from Ayrshire and Nick is Dutch so the day was a fab mix of Scots and people who travelled over from the Netherlands. I love it when international guests come to Scotland for a wedding, we get to show them what epic parties we throw!
Winter wedding at The Byre at Inchyra
The Byre at Inchyra is a rustic barn venue set in 150 acres of glorious Scottish countryside. It’s a blank canvas venue with chilled out vibes. Couples can – and do – put their own stamp all over the place and really make it their own for the day.
Hayley and her squad were getting ready at the cottage across from the venue while Nick was just down the road in Perth with their little boy, Otis. One great thing to come out of the lengthy Covid postponement was that now their wee lad could be part of the day too. What an unexpected bonus!
As the boys arrived at the venue – Nick and Otis looking ace in their matching kilts – Hayley couldn’t resist peeking out of the cottage to catch a glimpse of them and I spotted a super cute photo opportunity, yes!
Humanist wedding in Perthshire
Nick and Hayley had been legally married during Covid but this was their symbolic ceremony, their big old party and bringing together of everyone they love best in the world. It was a really lovely ceremony, some of Nick’s family members sang for them and Otis just roamed free throughout which caused a lot of giggles.
The stable room at the Byre is a fab, stone walled, timber floored room. Super cosy with fairy lights strung from the beams, a woven floral arch and lanterns lining the aisle. It had a really Nordic, wintery vibe which was perfect for their December wedding.
I love all my couples, but I hold an extra special place in my heart for those peeps who listen to my confetti advice. Go big! Go colourful! Hayley and Nick did good, they got loads of brightly coloured paper discs which made for a super cool confetti throw. Always puts everyone in a great mood and gets the celebrations properly started.
Their wedding reception was ace. There was hugs, there was laughter, there was a casino…yes, an actual casino. They’d set up a load of blackjack and roulette tables, gave everyone “Hayley and Nick bucks” and let them all go wild. Such a cool idea.
The three of us went for a wander around the grounds while everyone else got busy gambling their fake money away. It was December, it was chilly, but Hayley was a total badass and went out in bare shoulders and bare arms. She is a champ! She even let me lay out her train on the cold, wet ground. I feel like her mum may never forgive me for this but that train was mega! It needed to be fully appreciated and photographed. We got some ace photos so it was all worth it (sorry again Hayley’s mum!)
So, to sum it up. Fab couple, great day, epic dancing…here are my faves.
