Euan & Thomas celebrate with their friends and family on their 4 year anniversary with an Ayrshire Wedding at Piersland House
Our favourite part of the planning process was of course working with our wonderful photographers Joy Story Photography as they were simply amazing! Our photographers were exceptional and we cannot praise them enough for what they did. Thanks to them we have some incredible pictures and memories to look back on. Thank you Joy Story Photography!
-Euan & Thomas
I first met Euan & Thomas at a Costa in Glasgow where they told me it was the site of their first date – cute! Date-a-versaries mean a lot to these two as they chose to get married on their 4 year anniversary, what a way to celebrate!
The Preparations
As the boys were getting ready in different hotels, Euan at Piersland House and Thomas at The Marine Hotel, we were able to set up a wee first look for them! I love doing this to add a wee bit of surprise and excitement to the day. And you get to see each other for the first time just by yourselves (kinda… hello!) and have a wee moment before the ceremony. It really helps ease those pre-ceremony jitters!
The Ceremony
It was an absolute BELTER of a day and so the ceremony could take place outside, yay! As you can see from the images we were indeed blessed with the sun. It was so nice having everyone out in it to witness their marriage ceremony. They came back down the aisle to confetti and a whole lot of hugs from family and friends.
Then the ice cream cart came out and everyone ran to join the queue! Haha can you blame them – there was gin & tonic sorbet! I had a wee taste myself and I’m not a gin fan but it was delish!
The grounds of Piersland House have lots of lovely spots to offer for portraits. Myself and my secons shooter David had lots of fun playing with the sunshine and hard light lines it gives. It was SO hot though so we only did a quick few images and saved the rest for later on, we had high hopes for a lovely golden hour! (Spolier alert! Joy Story always delivers on golden hour – ok fine, it’s the sun.)
The Reception
All the guests were loving the outdoor space that Piersland House has to offer. We seen a lot of mini shotoshoots happening haha – why not, you’re all dressed up and on such a fab day! So everyone mainly relaxed outside until it was time for the marvelous feast! After some lovely wee speeches from our two grooms, the best woman and best man everyone tucked into huge big portions of lovely Ayrshire grub! The cake table also had multiple impressive cakes to offer (have you finished the leftovers yet lads? There must have been lots!).
Golden hour did indeed deliver so we took a mosey down to Troon Beach which is just a short 5 minute walk away. With the sun setting over Arran on the distance we had a wee 10 minute portrait session with our grooms. Just some relaxed and natural images to end the day on. I think you’ll agree it’s always worth going back out at golden hour for a wee bit! It’s some time to escape form the hustle and bustle of the day as well, time just for the two of you to decompress and chill (with us :P).
Enjoy this sunny beach vibes wedding!
