“I do not have the words to describe how fantastic these guys are! Not only is their service (from the minute you contact them to delivery of your photos) personal, of the highest quality and totally over and above anything you would expect, they are also the very best fun to work with! Our wedding photographs were quite simply stunning and captured the emotion and fun of the day in a way I never could have imagined. Since the wedding, it has been one of the biggest talking points with everyone saying how amazed they are at the quality of the shots but also how much fun we seemed to be having with them on the day. Cannot recommend highly enough!”
– Kirsty & Jacky

I dare you to read through this blog and look at the photos of this incredible day without a smile on your face. Seriously, you won’t be able to! The smiles on this couple will jump out of your screen. It was beautiful to see such happiness.

Kirsty and Jacky really pulled all their family and friends together to support and ensure their wedding day was filled with personal touches and memories from both of their heritages.

The bride, Kirsty, made all of the colourful faux flowers (with a little help from some mates) her mum’s friend made the cake, their table flavours were homemade (by Tunnock’s) which is sort of homemade as our lovely couple live in Uddingston where the Tunnock’s factory is. Every detail of the day had been considered and cared for.

The whole day took place at the epic Cornhill Castle. A venue like this means so much scope for photographs, it is a lot of fun.

Preparations

When I saw Kirsty’s beautiful strapless tulle dress, I knew I had to take it for a little walk to photograph it and make the most out of the backdrops we had. When Kirsty put the dress on, it was magic, and her father’s reaction was just priceless and so sweet. He was so proud and it was lovely.

Clearly family was important to this couple as it really was an emphasis on the day. One example was that Kirsty had her grandparents wedding rings and her great grandmother’s ring hand-tied onto her bouquet.

The bridesmaids looked amazing in their deep pink dresses, and with those sunflower pops of colour in the bouquets, it really stood out.

The Ceremony

As the ceremony began, you can see the emotion on everyone’s faces but mostly the sheer joy. I just love feeling those vibes when a couple come together and there were laughter and happy tears throughout.

Kirsty and Jacky’s mutual friends did a beautiful reading for them telling the tale As Old As Time of their beautiful relationship.

As they exited the ceremony, now as husband and wife, there was colourful confetti and some fun family and bridal party shots outside before we stepped away for the couple’s portraits.

The Reception

The grounds and the castle itself, have so many options for photos. Who knew the honeymoon suite bathroom would provide such an interesting spot (spot the bathroom pics!) In fact, we could have spent all day photographing this happy pair but there were more plans to attend to.

One being a nod to Jacky’s Chinese heritage with a tea ceremony, made all the more special by having a lot of his family there from Hong Kong.

From the tea ceremony, there were hilarious speeches and the main meal. As the sun began to set, it became clear that we were going to be blessed with some gorgeous golden light. I mean Cornhill Castle really excels at delivering epic sunsets, yay! What a way to top off an already awesome wedding day.

The wedding reception also had the Ultimate heritage blender, the ceilidh! And the family influences continued on into the party when Kirsty’s sister, Hannah sang so beautifully and family friends ‘Ernest’ were the band (Amazing family friends to have – Ernest are fab!).

We had so much fun with these two cuties who were just absolutely buzzing to be getting married and that’s really what it’s all about, right?

P.S. Kirsty and Jacky also know that the more colourful confetti you have, the better. Proof supplied above and below. Enjoy!
