Jamie & Mark's Monachyle Mhor Wedding
“Thank you so so much for everything. You were honestly incredible. You kept everyone calm, and helped the day run as smoothly as possible as well as making everyone feel great when getting the photos taken! We are also so grateful to you for coming back later in the evening for the sunset shots – that was definitely above and beyond! And oh my god we love the photos, they’re unreal! THANK YOU ♥ xxx”

Monachyle Mhor wedding
Woohoo, for this blog I’m back at one of my all time favourite venues – Monachyle Mhor. I always love a trip here and, added bonus, we were blessed with the sunniest day ever. What a win! Jamie and Mark were heading out to Italy for a big old wedding celebration, but they wanted to get legally married in Scotland. Even though this was ‘the legal bit’ they wanted to make it a wee bit special so invited their parents along and booked in Monachyle Mhor. They knew the venue well after visiting for different family celebrations and loved it. So it was a no brainer when it came to choosing a beautiful Scottish spot for their day.Wee weddings at Monachyle Mhor
These two are super cute. When I arrived there was an absolute beauty of a car parked outside. A bright red, vintage number. Gorgeous. Turns out Jamie had surprised Mark with it (hired obv…she’s not that generous!) and absolutely made his day. I knew I’d be getting them out for a wee pootle around in that later on. Their ceremony took place overlooking the loch. After a very emotional moment with her parents, Jamie linked arms with them and they set off towards the viewpoint. With a few stops on the way to say hello to the resident goats and sheep of course! Mark has to be one of the smiliest grooms I’ve ever seen. He couldn’t stop grinning to himself whilst he waited for Jamie. Then, when he turned to look at her, well, safe to say he was blown away. He didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, shout with joy…I think he pretty much did all three bless him! I don’t blame him either, Jamie looked incredible. She’d actually rented her jumpsuit, one of those places you can rent designer gear. Let me tell you, she wore the heck out of that jumpsuit. By the end of the day she had actually ripped it to pieces. Which just goes to show how much fun they were having and what an awesome day they had. I always say, the dirtier the dress, the better the wedding. Could not be more true for these two!
Wedding photography at Monachyle Mhor
As this was a ceremony followed by a meal with their parents, Jamie and Mark had booked one of my short coverage packages. I was only meant to be there for the ceremony and a few couple’s photos after but, in true laidback style, everything ran late. The ceremony ran late, we lost the car keys (they were eventually found in another room, phew!) and it was a whole drama!
We were quickly running out of time and I had another shoot booked nearby (Claire and Kevin’s amazing adventure shoot). So we hatched a plan. I would go on my Claire and Kevin adventure while Jamie, Mark and co tucked into their meal. Then I’d head back to Monachyle Mhor. Just as I arrived, the most stunning golden hour was starting. Perfect timing!
We jumped in the car (I’d made sure the keys were to hand!) and headed out. We managed to find the perfect spot and got the last gasp of the sunshine and that beautiful light. I was so glad I returned, Jamie and Mark were so grateful and lovely about it and, of course, we were rewarded by that sky. I was over the moon for them. They really are the nicest people, their families were a joy to spend time with and, you know, I love Monachyle Mhor. And I love sunsets. All round, a very good day.
So, lovely reader, know this. If you book me in for a few hours on your day I’m not going to leave you hanging. I’m going to stick around until the job is done and your photos are in the bag. I’ve got your back.
