“I just have no words. Anything we say to describe the pictures will just be an understatement. The photos are awesome and we love every one of them. We can’t thank you enough, you have captured the shots exactly the way we wanted. You have given us memories for a lifetime. You’re the best and sweetest photographer ever.”
– Moni & Arko

Forgive me for blowing my own trumpet here (and if I can’t do it on my own website then when can I?!) but I was so chuffed with this amazing feedback from Arko and Moni.

“Memories for a lifetime”. I mean, you can’t get much better than that can you!

Arko and Moni had decided, for their fourth wedding anniversary, to treat themselves to a photoshoot. I am SO on board with this idea. Like most couples, Arko and Moni hadn’t had any professional pictures of themselves since their wedding. I’m going to let you in on a little secret, photographs are not just for weddings. I know! Who’d have thought it! Get photos of yourselves throughout the years. Basically, and I bang on about a lot this a lot, take more pictures people!

And maybe you do, maybe you get a family portrait shoot every year (also a very good idea, it’s a great way to see your little team grow and change) but even if you do, make sure that during the photo session you get photos of just the two of you. Even if the kids are heckling from behind the camera. Celebrate the two of you.

So, now that I’ve given you my ‘get yourselves in front of the camera’ lecture, here’s a bit more about the rather fabulous Arko and Moni’s shoot.

Glasgow portrait shoot

We met up at Pollok Park, a massive (361 acres, fact fans) park in the south of Glasgow.  Bang in the centre of it you’ll find Pollok House, a rather grand National Trust property. Arko and Moni had a few photos outside and we joked that they could tell their friends back in London that they’d bought a new home!

These two are just the sweetest and told me they’d been so nervous about the shoot. They’d gone all-in though and had brought along an outfit change as well as wine and a guitar so Arko could serenade Moni. They really made the most of the session and we had such a laugh.

Just as an aside, because it wouldn’t be a Joy Story blog if I didn’t tell you something wonderful about Glasgow, how amazing is Pollok Park? A country park in the city. Now I love my urban portrait shoots but I definitely made the most of being out and about amongst the greenery for this session.

If you fancy teaming up with me for a wander around Glasgow (or further afield) get in touch. There’s absolutely no need to have a reason for the photoshoot. Treat yourselves!
