Engagement Shoot at Aberdeen Uni, Gorgeous Winter Sunset Light with Demi & Tobi
When we first met Demi and Tobi their smiles were infectious, and their happiness radiated. We were doubly happy that not only did they want us to take their wedding photographs, but they were also keen on an Aberdeen engagement shoot. This news delighted us as we love engagement shoots. Not only is it a great way for couples to get to know us and for us to get to know them, but it is also a great practice run for portraits on your wedding day. You can get a feel for how we work and often it eases the nerves of those who aren’t 100% comfortable in front of the camera.
Demi and Tobi both went to Aberdeen University and with its beautiful surroundings, it was clear that this would be a great place for their engagement shoot. To begin with we went for a short walk around the grounds and along the cobbled streets of Old Aberdeen. The gorgeous couple started with their semi-formal outfits for the day and don’t they look fab! It was great to have a wander around and listen to Demi and Tobi’s stories of their time at Aberdeen University.

Next, we went to the impressive King’s College for two reasons. Firstly, for its stunning architecture and secondly, it was pouring rain and we needed somewhere to shelter. You would never know it from Demi and Tobi’s faces in the photos but it was such a cold day and they did so well ignoring the climate. Their playful nature shone through as they climbed walls and Tobi gave Demi a piggy-back.
For the second half of the shoot, Demi and Tobi changed into their casual outfits and wowed us in red. We used the University’s Sir Duncan Rice Library as a backdrop and we were also lucky enough to have some of those glorious autumnal colours still hanging around. We think that Demi and Tobi look like loves young gorgeous dream in these engagement photos. Congratulations guys!! We cannot wait for the wedding.
